I listen to the Climate Bang

It is my first time to know about how angry bird’s act to climate change. I also found a more detailed article and it says that this survey is not done in China. Angry Birds and the People’s Climate Vote
Then I hear about goverment should consider the policy and deal with people’s job loss in a more practical way instead of just saying.

Down Wind

It reminds me of a documentary I saw when I try to do the wind sculpture for Digital Fabrication class last semester. The documentary is “Down Wind”. I thought it would tell me how wind turbine works.
However, it is more about the wind turbines’ damage to the town. People’s house are under flickering light because of the huge wind turbines’ shadow would be projected to their house and the television signal would also be cut out at a regular frequency. People are getting angry about that and are moving out their home to escape those wind turbines.

At first it hits me because there is a relationship between wind turbine’s shadow and people’s life.

Play with wind turbine

Later I saw another video that is a man playing with the shadow of the wind turbine. It is a more joyful relationship.

Also this is just like a clock of its own pace. The huge power machines are all like that. I remember another documentary “Home” I saw oil pumping machines running and ticking like a clock also.

Our agriculture has become oil powered. It feeds twice as many humans on earth but it replaced diversity with standardization. It offers as much comfort we can only dream of, but makes our way of life totally dependent on oil. This is the new measure of time. Our world’s clock now beats to the rhythm of these indefatigable machines tapping into the pocket of sunlight. Their regularity reassures us. The tiny interrupt froze us into disarray. The whole planet is attentive to this metronome of our hopes and illusion.
