challenge
I figure out that I need to remodel everything to make sure that every components I could be able to buy from US and also all the wood thickness is right.
thickness
I decide for my piece, all the wood I use would be 1⁄2 inch if it is going to be CNC, and 1⁄8 inch if it is going to be lasercutted. Also I make lasercut aluminum both 1⁄8 inch and 1⁄16 inch.
Distance
After measuring everything and looking for all the available length of standoff, shaft and screws, I decide the distance between the front panel and the middle panel to be 0.5 in while the distance between the back up panel and the middle panel to be 0.75 inch while the distance between the back down panel and the middle panel to be 1 inch.

flange somehow decide the distance between the panel too, this is 25 mm in its length.
bearing, it takes me a lot of effort finding it in USA with a reasonable price. It is usually 2 dollar for 10 in China but in Mcmaster it is 8 dollar for each!!! Also due to the airplane control, the bearing I got from China could not arrive on time and is going through a delay with no end. So I got the bearing finally from VBX.
Hinge is for rotating the panel. I use spring hinge to keep the panel always down.
Stand-off is crucial! It comes with 1 inch, 1⁄2 inch, 3⁄4 inch… At first I want to find 3⁄2 inch and 2 inch one, but they are not full threaded. I am planning to use a long srew to hold all of them together so I really need it to be full threaded.
spacer. Spacers are used for keeping the distance of the rotating gears and the cam so that they would not rub with each other. I choose the one that fit the screws. It should be longer than the height of nut I bought.
Nylon-insert nut to prevent loosen nut.
Screws. I use 4-40 for all the screws for the flange and smaller size things. I use 8-32 screws for the standoff screw size. I use 10-32 screws for the ones holding the motor. I bought the 4-40 screw for 1⁄4, 3⁄8, 7⁄16, 1⁄2, 9⁄16, 5⁄8, 11⁄16, 3⁄4, 13⁄16, 7⁄8, 15⁄16, 1 inch. I got the whole collection for 4-40 screws…
Shaft 6mm diameter and comes with length of 25mm, 50mm, 55mm, 60mm
